Each week, our friends at the Cuyahoga County Dog Shelter will feature 2 dogs up for adoption.
This week, meet Tippy & Aspen
Kennel 1 – Tippy is a special Terrier mix who is about six months old. He has been with us since the end of March because we think that he was hit by a car. He back leg was severely injured and dislocated, so he needed to spend several month recovering. Aster numerous bandage changes, he is are healed as he will every be. Tippy will always have a limp, but it never stopped him at all. Tippy is an active pup (due to him needing cage rest for weeks on end) so he would do best in a home that would be able to keep up with his energy. He likes treats and just wants to play. Since he was already neutered, come down and see if this happy-go-lucky boy will fit perfectly into your family.
Kennel 22 – Aspen has been the shelter mascot for months now. Aspen is about a three year old Husky who came in back in December of 2010 with heartworm. When he was checked to see if it was safe to treat him for the heartworm, we discovered his liver values were too high to safely treat. After months of liver medication, he finally went up for his heartworm treatment. On August 4th, 2011, Aspen treat negative for heartworm, with his liver values returning to normal. He will need to be on heartworm prevention for life and to be checked twice a year for his liver count, but e is such a good dog. We would put him in a home with older children and he knows most of his basic commands. He is also neutered so meet this beautiful boy soon.
