According to Prevention Magazine almost a third of people surveyed said they would give up chocolate forever if it meant they could work from home.

Clearly this survey must have been mostly men.

I mean, come on. Women and chocolate. Everyone knows this is a partnership that will never end. Think about it:

Chocolate. Diamonds are not nearly the friend that chocolate has been to women. Heart health, lower blood pressure, weight loss, diabetes prevention, reduced stress, better brain performance, even sun protection! Just to mention a few of the benefits that come with the bliss that chocolate is.

Forever. That’s a long time. The average woman lives to be around 80, give or take a few years. And since we know you aren’t average, you’ll probably live longer.

Work. Hmmm… Recent figures suggest roughly 324,000 women have dropped out of the labor force in just the last two months. Could it actually be too expensive to go to work? Maybe. The cost of full time child care can top out at over $14,000 a year, per child. Then there’s that thing we call a gas tank…

Home is starting to sound pretty good after all. But enough to give up chocolate? What’s home got going for it anyway?

Well, home is where our hearts are. It’s also where we’ve made our beds, drawn long baths, stocked our pantries, cut our grass and chased our children up and down the stairs. There’s a lot going for this little corner of the world.

If we could drop the commute that pulls us away from this palace, parks us in traffic and then ships us into an office – would it be worth it? If we could still be productive, still garner a paycheck and the only grooming that was mandatory was maybe pinning the hair back…is that still enough to give up chocolate?

Would you?

I vote yes, but I am not a big chocolate fan. For those of your torn…have your lawyer look over the contract and make this change: when the last kid is out the door, the chocolate is in! What if you lose the job you are working from home, do you still have to give up the chocolate? This is an unfair question prevention magazine! :P
