Yeah, you didn’t read that headline wrong. A new car can make people happier than a lot of things. In fact, you’d be surprised.

For starters, the statistics. 92% of people surveyed said they get a lot of pleasure out of a new car. 48% said they get a lot of pleasure from a new relationship, and 48% said they get a lot of pleasure from having a new baby.

The main reason for this large difference could be because a new relationship and baby require a lot of work, but a car is just enjoyed.

The survey also found that people say a new car makes people happier than a new house, new technology, a major home improvement, or a new pet.
