North Union Farmer’s Market (Shaker Square)
Featuring local chefs demonstrating their favorite dishes, the North Union Farmers Market at Shaker Square takes up both lanes of Shaker Boulevard from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday morning. The market not only has fresh produce and baked goods, but also prepared foods with “an international flair.” They also accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) cards, just visit the Market Information table when you arrive. Coit Road Farmer’s Market
Looking for a place to buy homemade beeswax candles, spices, and fresh grown produce? Then the Coit Road Farmers Market is just the place for you! Located at the intersection of Coit and Woodworth roads the market, founded in 1932, is fully enclosed and is the longest market of its kind operating in Northeast Ohio. Open Saturdays year round, and Wednesdays 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. starting in April through November, the market prides it’s self on the ability for customers to talk to the producer of their food and to know where their food is coming from. Geauga Fresh Farmer’s Market
Located at Rt. 306 and Bell Street the Geauga Fresh Farmers Market has a variety of events along with fresh produce and homemade goods. From cooking demonstrations by Matt Anderson, chef at Umami and kids day, to musical performances and pie eating contests, there is fun for everyone! North Union Farmer’s Market (Crocker Park)
Part of the other North Union Farmer’s Markets, the Crocker Park market stands out from the others because of its unique addition of an urban garden to the market. The Mange Urban Gardening Program promotes sustainability; with a green roof, organic compost, and rain water collection. The harvest from the garden is donated to the Plant a Row project along with Master Gardeners, two programs which support education about community gardening. Tremont Farmer’s Market
If you’re looking for a Tuesday farmers market then the Tremont Farmers Market is the place to be. Between May 1 and October 30 the market features not just local produce, but knife sharpening, non-profit organizations, food trucks, and much more! In operation for its 7th season, the market is located in Lincoln Park, on W14th between Starkweather and Kenilworth Avenues and is open from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. In case of rain, the market is moved across the street to Holy Ghost Greek (Byzantine) Catholic Church. North Union Farmer’s Market (Chagrin Falls)
Though it is only in its 5th year, the Chagrin Falls Farmers Market packs a punch for its small size. Named number 1 in Ohio for small markets, and 11th in the nation by the American Farmland Trust in 2011 the small market has a lot to offer. Located along North Franklin Street the market is a part of the North Union Farmers Markets, in conjunction with the Shaker, Lakewood, Cleveland State, and Crocker Park markets the Chagrin Market has cooking demonstrations the last Sunday of each month.
