Drew Carey is a son of Cleveland, and like many other clevelanders, he wants to return to his roots. Well Carey is doing just that, as the new voice of Nineteen Action News’ Everywhere segment. Starting tonight, Carey’s voice will be featured to set up these stories that tell feel-good news from around the area.

The Everywhere segment has been a Nineteen Action News staple since 2003, and the voices to introduce the stories have been quite variety. Most recently Kathy Applegate, Channel 19′s GM Bill Applegate’s wife, was the voice. But the Price Is Right host steps into the role with high expectations.

Carey is no stranger to wearing multiple hats. In the beginning of the last decade he wrote and starred in “The Drew Carey” (which was set in Cleveland) while also hosting “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”. The Kent State grad’s schedule just got a bit busier, but I’m sure that won’t be that much of a problem.
