Contrary to the reports, Toni Braxton will continue with her reality television role on the highly-rated show Braxton Family Values. The Grammy-award winning vocalist recently explained why she has no plans to leave her TV show anytime soon.
“I didn’t know if doing the reality show would work for me but I’m here,” Braxton said. “I love it. I can’t deny it.”
Yet Braxton admits that there are times that she is not exactly enamored about having her family’s personal lives exposed to the public-at-large.
“Sometimes personalities, when they come together, they butt heads,” she told The Talk. “Family is more challenging because you love each other, but you find these unresolved issues. They come out and sometimes you talk about too much on the air and then it’s done, it’s said… Usually it would take us a day or two to get over, now it takes weeks.”
After a season of the show, Braxton said the family is better equipped to deal with the conflicts.
“The positive side is we have season two,” she continued. “We’ve talked about the issues. They’re out there so we can deal with them better.”
Braxton is also still recording. The singer, who has sold 40 million albums worldwide, recently dropped her new single “I Heart You.” The track peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Dance/Club chart.
The third season of Braxton Family Values is set to premiere August 16 on We TV. —Keith Murphy, CBS Local
