What is a Change Maker?
Change Makers are volunteers who collect change and donations to support the 2014 Rainbow Radiothon! It is an easy for you, your family, your co-workers, your classmates and your community to make a difference for the patients and families at UH Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital. Individuals, kids, families, groups, schools and businesses are encouraged to make their own unique spin on collecting coins and dollars, as every cent is kid spent and helps every kid have the best chance possible to get better.
How to join and be a successful Change Maker?

Ideas for Schools or Businesses:
Wishing Well Penny Drive
Have a change jar easily accessible for people to drop in their change. In schools, you can create a friendly competition to see who can fill their jar the fastest.
Break the Dress Code Day/Dress Down Day
Have a dress down day, where people can dress down/break the dress code by making a donation!
Parking Spot Give Away
Raffle off the best parking spot at your company or school, and allow the winner to use the spot for a designated period of time!
Administrative Make Over
Allow students to organize a school wide competition to raise money, and the class with the most money is allowed to give an administrator a make-over.
Schools can host a walk/run during gym class, and have students receive donations or pledges to see how many laps they can go.
Ideas for Individuals and Families:
Invite your neighbors to join you in a garage sale with the proceeds going to Change Makers.
Chores for Change
Set a goal/weekly chore chart, and every time your child finishes the chart, a certain change amount will go to the Change Maker jar.
Block party and cook-off
Take advantage of great weather and get your entire neighborhood together for a friendly competition. Organize a cook-off between families and see who can raise the most money.
Non-athletic game night
If organized sports or running don’t appeal to you, there’s always a good old-fashioned game night. Grab your Scrabble boards, poker chips, or chess sets and get ready to play and fund childhood cancer research at the same time!
